Saif Ali Khan issues statement on stabbing in attempted burglary at Bandra residence: 'Request the media and fans to be patient, it is a police matter'

Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan has issued a statement addressing the recent stabbing incident at his Bandra residence during an attempted burglary.

In an official statement, the actor's reps confirmed, "There was an attempted burglary at Mr Saif Ali Khan’s residence. He is currently in hospital undergoing a surgery. We request the media and fans to be patient. It is a police matter We will keep you updated on the situation."


The incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday when an intruder broke into Khan’s home. The confirmation comes shortly after news broke on ANI that the actor had sustained injuries after an intruder broke into his Bandra residence.

"An unknown person entered Actor Saif Ali Khan’s residence and argued with his maid, late last night. When the actor tried to intervene and pacify the man, he attacked Saif Ali Khan and injured him. Police are investigating the matter," Mumbai Police said in a statement to ANI.

In a statement to IANS, DCP Dixit Gedam said, "Late last night, around 3 AM, information came in that actor Saif Ali Khan was attacked at a station. A police team was dispatched to the scene, and an investigation is currently underway."

While other reports claimed that the actor sustained his injuries with a sharp object, a report on PTI confirmed that the actor was stabbed with a knife. "Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was injured after an intruder attacked him with a knife at his residence in Mumbai, police said on Thursday," read a post on PTI.
