‘The minute Zohra Sehgal used to put up make-up, she was a different person’

When success and popularity is short lived in Bollywood, Zohra Sehgal, a name that entertained people for years passed away at the age of 102.
The actress worked in many Bollywood films and she made people smile in films like Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Saawariya. Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s sister Bela Bhansali Sehgal, who worked behind the camera in Bhansali films, shared her experience about the veteran actress.

“Whatever little I have seen of her, I can say that she was a legend. The minute she used to put up her make up on she was a different person. People like us get tired, she was mind blowing and there was so much of energy because of her on the sets. She was a brilliant actor,” said Bela.
“When she used to perform, she used to light up the stage. She existed being an actress and that was her strong point. Even at the age of 96, she performed and entertained people. Whatever you give her she used to give more than 100 percent and she was was amazing,” concluded Bela.
