Thus, he also requested them not to tag him in posts featuring his Ghibli-style avatar.
“Sorry I'm not sharing any of the Studio Ghibli style images you guys have made of or for me. I just can't bring myself to support AI's plagiarisation of an artist's life's work," Vishal wrote in his note shared on his IG story.

The Studio Ghibli trend

A few days ago, fans of Studio Ghibli, the legendary Japanese animation studio famous for films like Spirited Away, were excited to discover a new version of ChatGPT that enables users to convert memes and personal images into the distinctive style of its founder, Hayao Miyazaki.
However, this trend also ignited a debate over the ethical considerations surrounding the use of artificial intelligence tools that are trained on copyrighted creative materials. It raised concerns about the potential effects on the livelihoods of human artists in the future. Hayao Miyazaki, the 84-year-old co-founder of Studio Ghibli, has expressed skepticism about the use of AI in animation.
