Last week, the police questioned Jessi regarding an assault by a member of her entourage, who asked for a photo of her, on one of her fans. However, this is not the first such allegation against Jessi's circle.

JTBC's show 'Crime Chief' recently featured a victim from a 2013 assault case involving Jessi at a club in Itaewon, Seoul. In May 2013, Jessi was charged with assaulting a Korean-American woman in a restroom. While Jessi professed to be trying to break up the fight, the victim had a very different tale to tell: she said that she thought Jessi and her friends provoked the assault and attempted to ram her head into the toilet of the boys' restroom and later tried to blackmail her for an apology in exchange for returning her purse.

She claimed she had withdrawn the case because she would be moving to the US, and she feared the proceedings would coincide with her departure. She frustratedly complained: "Exactly, like, with Jessi it's a bit similar. The woman, in both cases, claims that the attacker fled abroad so as not to be pursued for liability."

On 16th October, Jessi was summoned by Gangnam Police Station as a defendant. According to various reports, she was not a direct perpetrator but was questioned after being sued by the victim. She was released after being questioned for six hours and has since apologized for the incident.
