Chase will be the first release for
Radhika Narayan after almost two years. The movie - starring Avinash Narasimharaju, Arjun Yogi, Sheetal Shetty and Sushant Pujari in lead roles - releases on July 15.
Revealing the details about her character, Radhika says, “I play a cop who is in the training period, and is expected to join the police department, but a particular incident prevents her from reporting to duty and takes her to an unfamiliar territory.”
The actress, who had to shoot with a dog for the film, says of her experience, “I had to strike a bond with a Labrador named Bruno, so I spent a few days with him and took him on walks.
For one scene, Bruno had to lick on my face, so I had to keep some food behind my ears to grab his attention. It was exciting and fun to shoot with a dog, which was a new experience for me,” she says.
Radhika has also performed stunts for the first time in her career in Chase. “I learnt Krav Maga; the workshops were physically draining and quite challenging. The stunts, composed by Chethan D’souza, are unique, as they don't go beyond the character's capabilities, so there are no gravity-defying throws or anything like that. That will make it enthralling to watch,” she shares.
Radhika is also exploring the OTT space and will be seen in a Hindi web-series. “Content has gone through a sea of change, with many platforms coming to the fore. Acting for a web-series requires a bit of subtlety. As a professional actor, I would love to do roles that satisfy me,” she explains.
As for films, Radhika says she is not keen on signing films just for the sake of numbers. “I have done films that speak to me. I ensure that I don’t repeat characters, because there are people who come to cinema halls to watch me, so I don’t want to disappoint them,” she signs off.
