Actor
Ravi Kale, who played Sivarasan in AMR Ramesh’s film
Cyanide, will be seen essaying the role of the mastermind behind former Prime Minister
Rajiv Gandhi’s assassination, yet again. While Cyanide was about the events following the assassination, AMR’s next (which will be shot in Kannada, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu) will be about the events leading up to the event. “I think Cyanide was the story after the interval and the upcoming film is the story before,” says Ravi.
The actor adds, “It’s a lot more challenging this time because the plot requires extensive research. Though I studied Sivarasan’s personality for
Cyanide, this time, I’m studying the reasons behind the inception of his plan and the repercussions it had on his allies and others.”
Ravi will also be seen in the upcoming Kannada film
Umesh Reddy — a film based on the life of the serial rapist Umesh Reddy. When asked about why he prefers to play real-life characters says, “Realistic films impart a certain message to the audience. They might not be explicit, but each of them stress on how important it is to be smart and attentive to your surroundings because these criminals succeeded by choosing soft targets.”
Ravi’s other upcoming project is
Red Blood — a bi-lingual (Hindi-Marathi), in which he will be playing a naxalite. “I will play
Vijay Kumar, a naxalite from
Andhra Pradesh, who was encountered by the Maharashtra police.”
