Two years after they made a film that ran for 511 days thus creating a national record, the team of the runaway hit
Chaali Polilu is set to collaborate once more. Touted to be a full-fledged comedy, the untitled film will see the entire star cast of
Chaali Polilu, the four superstars of Tulu filmdom, Devadas Kapikad, Naveen D Padil, Arvind Bolar and
Bhojaraj Vamanjoor, come together on screen again.
"Of course, expectations are bound to be huge after delivering such a huge hit. Running for 511 days to a packed house is no small task," says director Veerenda Shetty Kavoor. After an attempt to make an entry into Kannada films with Savarnadeergha Sandhi last year,
Veerendra returns to Tulu films with this as yet untitled film.
“Even though Chaali Polilu was a comedy, we had left a few gaps to accommodate other elements of the story. But, in the new subject, we will ensure that the intensity of the comedy maintains the same pace start to finish,” shares the director adding that the story this time around will see the four actors sandwiched between the cops and a rowdy gang and their travails of trying to escape from this web.
“My chemistry with all four stars is what makes me so confident of the subject. Besides they are such terrific actors that when they come on screen you can’t help but have a superhit on hand,” adds Veerendra. If the pandemic abates, the film will go on floors in Mangaluru in November.
