Yoo Teo makes history as first Korean male nominated for Best Actor at BAFTA Film Awards with “Past Lives” earning 3 nominations

Great news for the movie ‘Past Lives’ and actor Yoo Teo! The film, directed by Celine Song, has received three nominations for the prestigious EE British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) Film Awards.


‘Past Lives’ is a special story about two childhood friends who meet again in New York after many years. The movie, loved by critics, has been recognized in three categories at the BAFTA Film Awards: Best Original Screenplay, Best Film Not in the English Language, and a special honor for Best Leading Actor, which goes to Yoo Teo.

Yoo Teo's nomination is a groundbreaking moment, as he becomes the first Korean male to receive this recognition at the esteemed British awards. In 2021, Youn Yuh Jung made history by being the first Korean actress to be nominated and win the BAFTA for Best Supporting Actress for her role in "Minari."


The excitement continues as the 2024 EE BAFTA Film Awards will take place on February 18 in London.
