Akcent show in kochi cancelled after police raids scare organisers
Akcent fans across Kerala were thrilled when it was announced that their favourite international music artiste was going to perform for the first time in Kochi on August 15. However, the organisers now inform us that Akcent will not be performing in Kochi! The show will instead take place in Chennai.
Organisers say that the show has been cancelled as they didn’t want to take a chance with all the recent raids at night clubs by the Kerala police.

“We have shifted the show from Kochi to Chennai, which will now happen on August 16. We have taken this decision considering the on-going raids by the Kerala police. It is not safe for the artiste to perform in the state,” said Akshat Mudbidri, Akcent’s India music project manager.
The Kochi show was planned as part of Akcent’s international tour to promote his new album Around The World. The organisers had chosen Kochi as the preferred destination following a survey wherein it was learnt that Adrian aka Akcent had the most happening fan base in Kerala among all other Indian states. They had even informed his fans that he was keen on performing in Kerala as it would be an opportunity for him to interact with them here.
Needless to say, the hardcore fans of the artiste are very disappointed. “I’m shocked!” says Sethu Raj, a law college student in Kochi. “After so much of promotion and discussion across the social media platforms, they decided to cancel the show? My friends and I were about to book the tickets for the show in advance. A great artiste like Akcent performing at a small town like Kochi was great news for people like us. We had always wanted to see him perform live,” he says.
