In director Prasanth Kanathur’s film Station Five, actor
Indrans will play the role of a ward member from Vattavada in Idukki.
The film, which was shot mostly in Attappady, has the actor appearing in a rustic get-up, complete with a turban-style headgear.
Director Prasanth, who has done many notable short films including the noted movie Aval, tells us, “The film is a family drama, but it also has layers of romance, revenge and even Maoism.
Indran’s character, Chevambayi, is a ward member who lives in a small hut atop a hill. He, like many other characters in the film, speaks a remote dialect that has both the influence of Tamil and Malayalam. But, that doesn’t mean it is tough for the audience to understand it.” The film’s script is by Pratap Nair, who also handles its cinematography.
The director says the film also shows the various loopholes in the idea of democracy, alongside the contradictions in men-women relationship.
Priyamvada Krishnan also plays a crucial role in the film.
