Mohanlal’s much-awaited drama ‘Thudarum’ has witnessed a strong box office run over its opening weekend, collecting an impressive Rs 24.10 crore in just three days.

The film, which enjoys glowing word-of-mouth and Mohanlal’s evergreen charm, recorded significant jumps daily, reaffirming that one impactful performance is all he needs to dominate the box office again.
According to early estimates from the Sacnilk website, ‘Thudarum’ earned around Rs 10.25 crore India net across all languages on its third day (Sunday). The Malayalam version remained the driving force, contributing the lion’s share of the collections, with a minor boost from the Telugu version.

Impressive occupancy rates


Occupancy levels tell the story of the film’s rising momentum, with Malayalam screenings registering an excellent 77.18% overall occupancy on Sunday, April 27, 2025. Morning shows recorded 70.96% occupancy, peaking during the afternoon (80.52%) and evening (84.46%) shows.
In key regions, ‘Thudarum’ was unstoppable—Kochi topped the charts with a staggering 97.50% occupancy, followed by Thiruvananthapuram at 89%. Even in Bengaluru, where competition is tougher, the film achieved a respectable 65.50% occupancy.

More box office magic in coming days


Starring Mohanlal alongside Shobana, Maniyanpilla Raju, Binu Pappu, and Irshad Ali, Thudarum continues to strike an emotional connection with audiences. If the trend holds, the film is poised to cross even bigger milestones in the days ahead, further marking Mohanlal’s unshakable hold over the box office. Although the story of this Tharun Moorthy’s film is said to be predictable, ‘Thudarum’ get all the love from the audiences due to Mohanlal’s stunning performance and the engaging screenplay.
