Singing has always been my passion: Amruta Subhash

Singing has always been my passion: Amruta Subhash
We have witnessed how fine an actor Amruta Subhash is in the past. And her recent hit which has once again earned her a lot of praise has in a way sealed this fact.
But what many of us are oblivious to is that the actor has a honey laced voice too. Having sung in director Nitin Desais next, Amruta shares, Though I am making it a part of my career now, singing has always been my passion, something that I have been doing since school. The actor turned singer, who has trained under singers, Sameer Dubale and Vikas Bhatvedekar had even released her debut music album Jata Jata Pawasane earlier, but it went quite unnoticed.

But nonetheless, Amruta is determined to concentrate on her music career parallel to doing films and plays and has already started planning for her second music release.
Of late the actor has been sporting a modern and chic appearance in her plays and music shows on the small screen, contrary to her coy screen image. And fans waiting for Amruta to shed her Plain Jane image are more than loving it. Talking about her fresh look, she says, After donning a de-glam look in my films like Shwaas, Valu, Gandh, I started getting similar offers. But I am thankful now that directors are scripting roles that are giving me a chance to portray the real me who is young, peppy and todays woman. I really wish to change my set image. Amruta is also staging a negative character for the first time in Girish Joshi directed Love Birds. So was it a challenge after doing all goody-goody roles till now? Playing Devikas character was very different from all the work I have done till now. So in a way it was challenging.
An undying passion for theatre explains the reason why the actor is devoting so much time to theatre. Its like being married to many other things, but being in love with one. And in my case that one thing is theatre. Whether I am tired, sad or depressed my plays never fail to uplift my mood and always make me feel rejuvenated at the end of it. But then does that mean we will see less of her in films? Films always are a priority but I have decided to be choosy about the roles that I do. Even if I have no work, I will take up only good scripts. And having said that, I am thankful to God that I dont have to sit idle as I have my plays, singing, live shows and ads to keep me occupied, she chuckles.
