Swanand Kirkire and Iravati Harshe join Pu La biopic

After announcing the actor Sagar Deshmukh as the leading man in the PL Deshpande biopic, director Mahesh Manjrekar also revealed two more names associated with the film.
Actress Iravati Harshe, from the National Award winning Marathi film Kaasav, will be seen in the role of Sunitabai Deshpande, Pu La's wife, in the film. The film boasts of a whopping 55 characters, including those of the late Vasantrao Deshpande, Jawaharlal Nehru and more.

Additionally, sources suggest that singer and lyricist Swanand Kirkire has been roped in to play the role of Kumar Gandharva in the film which is set to release on January 4, 2019. Titled Bhai, the Manjrekar directorial aims to delve into the life of Pu La and explore the characteristics of his personality that made him what he was.
