Inspiration, they say, comes in all forms and sizes. And that seems to be the case with composer Karthik Raja, who has come up with a breezy score for Rettaisuzhi. The film features a song shot in the rains and the composer is super excited about it. Says Karthik, “Generally, songs on rain inspire composers. For this particular song, I derived my inspiration from the visuals of Michael Jackson’s Stranger In Moscow..., in which rain drops were shot at almost 1,000 frames per second.
Even the beats are slightly inspired by the visuals of that song.”
But what about critics who may term the act plagiarism? He laughs and affirms, “In terms of music, be it the tune or the rhythm, both songs are vastly different.”
Now, here’s one composer who is honest about his creation!
