After ‘Kaala’, director Pa Ranjith to foray into Bollywood?

In a short span of time, director Pa Ranjith has established himself as one of the most important political commentators in Tamil cinema. Be it ‘Madras’ or ‘Kaala’, Ranjith's films are laced with present socio-politico issues.
Basking in the success of the Rajinikanth-starrer ‘Kaala’, Pa Ranjith hasn’t yet confirmed his next project. Reports are now doing the rounds that Pa Ranjith is likely to make his directorial debut in Hindi.
According to reports, the producers Shareen Mantri Kedia and Kishor Arora of Namah Pictures are likely to rope in Pa Ranjith for their forthcoming venture. The production house has previously bankrolled ‘Beyond The Clouds’, directed by noted Iranian filmmaker Majid Majidi.
Reports also suggest that the yet-untitled project might be a period film based on true events. Apparently, the talks are in the nascent stage and an official statement regarding the project is expected soon.
‘Kaala’, which released earlier in June, talked about the lives of Dalits living in Dharavi. Playing the role of a slumlord Kaala Karikalan, Rajinikanth was unanimously praised for his performance in the film, which became successful at the box office as well.
