Dhanush joined forces with acclaimed filmmaker Sekhar Kammula for his 51st film, which has been titled 'Kuberaa'. This pan-Indian project features Telugu superstar Nagarjuna in a significant role, alongside Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead. Renowned composer Devi Sri Prasad has scored the music, adding to the excitement surrounding the film. After teasing fans with no update regarding the film for a long time, the makers have broken the silence to share an official update on the film's release date. 'Kuberaa' is all set to hit theaters on June 20. "A story of power. A battle for wealth. A game of fate. #SekharKammulasKuberaaa is ready to deliver an enchanting theatrical experience from 20th June 2025", captioned the makers by sharing the latest poster with the release date.

'Kuberaa' revolves around the journey of a beggar who undergoes a drastic transformation, exploring themes of greed, ambition, and redemption. The film delves into the stark contrasts between poverty and wealth, and the title, inspired by the Hindu god of wealth, hints at a gripping tale of power, morality, and fate. The mega-budget film has been shot in multiple locations, including Tirupati, Thailand, and Mumbai, promising a visually stunning cinematic experience. The film will be released in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi, making it one of the most awaited projects of the year.
Dhanush’s recent directorial venture, 'Nilavukku En Mel Ennaadi Kobam', was released on Feb 21. Despite its unique and realistic storytelling, the film did not receive the expected response at the box office, possibly due to its unconventional narrative and fresh cast. However, Dhanush remains undeterred as he gears up for his next directorial project, 'Idli Kadai'. This upcoming film, which he has both directed and starred in, is slated for release on April 10, and the film to take on Ajith's 'Good Bad Ugly' at the box office.
