R. Madhavan to begin filming G.D. Naidu biopic on February 18; Title reveal on the same day

R. Madhavan is set to bring the story of legendary inventor and industrialist G.D. Naidu to life in an upcoming biopic. Touted as the 'Edison of India' and the 'Wealth Creator of Coimbatore,' G.D. Naidu’s contributions to technology and industry remain groundbreaking.


The film, written and directed by Krishnakumar Ramakumar, will commence filming on February 18 in Coimbatore, Naidu’s birthplace. The project is a collaboration between Varghese Moolan Pictures and Tricolour Films, the same production houses behind Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, which won the National Award for Best Feature Film in 2022. R. Madhavan, along with Sarita Madhavan, will co-produce under the Tricolour Films banner, while Varghese Moolan and Vijay Moolan lead the production for Varghese Moolan Pictures.



The untitled film aims to authentically capture the inventor’s life, struggles, and revolutionary impact on Indian technology and industry.

Aravind Kamalanathan joins the project as both cinematographer and creative producer. Meanwhile, the film’s official title will be revealed on February 18, coinciding with the start of its Indian shooting schedule.
