Debut director Sivaprakash has helmed the upcoming Tamil film 'Peranbum Perungobamum,' which marks the acting debut of Vijith Bachan, son of acclaimed cinematographer and filmmaker Thangar Bachan. Paired opposite him is newcomer Shali Nivegas. The film also features a talented supporting cast, including Mime Gopi, Arul Doss, Logu, Subadhra, Deepa, and Sai Vinoth. Produced by Ryota Media, the film boasts a soulful musical score by the legendary Ilaiyaraaja, adding weight to its emotional narrative.
Star-studded trailer launch held in Chennai
The trailer launch of 'Peranbum Perungobamum' took place in Chennai with much fanfare. The event was graced by several prominent names, including director S.A. Chandrasekhar, Naam Tamilar Katchi leader Seeman, director Karu Palaniappan, actress Devayani, and members of the film crew. The gathering saw heartfelt speeches and words of encouragement, especially directed at the young debutant Vijith, as he steps into the limelight with the support of his father’s legacy.

During the event, veteran filmmaker S.A. Chandrasekhar shared his thoughts on the challenges of introducing one’s child to the film industry. He said that Thangar Bachan had taken a bold step in launching his son through another director. Reflecting on his own experience launching his son Vijay, Chandrasekhar recalled the difficulties he faced in convincing directors to take a chance on him, despite offering to produce the film himself.

S.A. Chandrasekhar said, “It was R.B. Choudary who told me, ‘You’re already a big director, why don’t you direct Vijay’s debut film yourself?’ It prompoted me, and that’s how the situation was created for me to launch Vijay, which eventually led to his successful entry into Tamil cinema. Thangar Bachan, on the other hand, has taken a different approach with his son Vijith. I truly wish both of them all the very best. I hope their film becomes a success and that the father and son create a strong mark for themselves in the industry.”
