Chitralahari

’ with Nivetha Pethuraj and Kalyani Priyadarshan released today and it’s refreshing!

Directed by Kishore Tirumala and featuring music by Devi Sri Prasad, the teaser introduces the modati, rendo, mudo and assalu (first, second, third and most important) characters of the film – Nivetha Pethuraj, Kalyani Priyadarshan, Sunil and lastly Sai Dharam Tej as Vijay. Nivetha Pethuraj’s character, a corporate honcho, is introduced as someone who has a deep distrust of men, while Kalyani’s character seems too naïve for her own good. Sunil seemingly plays a street smart man while Sai Dharam Tej is someone who’s looking for his life to finally turn around.

for the teaser, the actors all seem to have fun with their characters, delivering one-liners with ease. The teaser is invigorating too for the reason that unlike regular Tollywood masala fare, it makes an attempt to give a glimpse into the characters or even introduce them in the first place, instead of just focusing on the male lead. The teaser also see Vennela Kishore, Posani Krishna Murali and Brahmaji, but nothing much is known about their characters. The humour too is subtle and on-point, without relying on double entendre, a major plus.

The teaser even begins with a voice-over by director Sukumar, something music director Devi Sri Prasad revealed while sharing the teaser on his social media. He wrote, "Here is the # CHITRALAHARI Teaser..Awesome job by Director #KishoreTirumala Sir..Thanks to our Darling @aryasukku for the Voice Over." (sic) The teaser is raking in views by the minute and is expected to cross the 1M mark in no time.
