The stars got a musical tribute by Eddie Vedder who took the stage to sing Tom Petty’s ‘Room at the top’ while montage played in the background..

They were included in the annual montage along with John Heard, Tony Anne Walker, Jane Foray, Robert Osborne, Martin Landau, Glenne Headly, Roger Moore, George A Romero, Jerry Lewis and others who were remembered for their contribution across spheres of acting, editing, cinematography, music etc.

Introducing the segment, actress Jennifer said, “Every storyteller knows that there is no joy without sorrow. Tonight, as we celebrate the achievements of our collaborators, we also mourn the loss of those who brought joy and awareness through their passion for the movies. The work they left us, as Academy Award winner Audrey Hepburn said so beautifully, ‘Gives pleasure, creates beauty, awakens our conscience, arouses our compassion, and perhaps most importantly, gives millions a moment of respite in our violent world’.”

Applauding the gesture, Bollywood personalities such as Rishi Kapoor, Vidya Balan, Farah Khan and Arjun Rampal took to Twitter to thank the Academy for paying tributes to Indian stars.
