Three Indian students studying in German universities talk about modern curriculum, smart teaching and a place for collaborative learningKshitij Goyal, Masters in Renewable Energy at Carl von Ossietzky University of OldenburgDuring my school days, I was amazed to note how energy has become an inseparable part of our life. I remember the bitter experiences of prolonged power cuts due to a high demand in the face of a limited supply of energy in India.
Constant efforts to boost the blending of technology with our lives for the betterment of mankind, and a sheer conviction to give reliable and sustainable energy had ignited a passion to pursue Masters in Renewable Energies.
Germany, known for its technology, and high-quality education system, is also a melting pot of varied cultures and amicable people from all walks of life. Apart from the innovative and research-oriented courses of study, the country gives its students an ideal atmosphere to learn a new language and a culture with a rich history, socialise, travel, explore and make lifelong memories. Modern curriculum and smart teaching methods, diverse and international environment, organised administration, no or low tuition fees, make Germany a perfect location to pursue overseas education. Germany was the best decision as it has provided me with a plethora of opportunities and has enriched my intellect as well as polished my cultural knowledge.
Currently, I am the associate director of a startup, working towards sustainability and green energy.

I did my Masters in Process Engineering, specialising in environmental process engineering, from TU Hamburg.
I come from Pulwama, Kashmir and I did my Bachelors in Process Engineering from NIT Srinagar, before heading to Germany in 2013.
Apart from my research, I like to spend time reading, writing and trying my hands in photography.
German education offers a good balance between studies and personal life, and one gets to witness the diversity of culture and rich history that the city has to offer. The city of Hamburg, in many aspects, lives up to the its title — the most beautiful city in the world (die schönste Stadt der Welt). If there was a place that one could truly call home, I would call Hamburg —my second home, after Kashmir, which would still be the first.
Vinay Mulchandani, Masters in Automotive Management at Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft, BerlinI graduated with Master of Business Administration and Engineering from HTW, Berlin, Germany. This course has helped me develop an analytical mindset, needed for a variety of industries and business functions to become a strong problem solver — professional, creative and collaborative.
Germany offered me wide exposure to work with future trends including autonomous vehicle, Industry 4.0 and IoT. The industrial visits in BMW, Daimler, etc gave me a deep insight into how the German automotive sector works in terms of manufacturing and supply chain. My final year thesis focusses on Industry 4.0 and its impact on supply chain.
Interning in Continental AG was a phenomenal learning experience for me. I returned to India and started working in Supply Chain domain.
I enriched my experience through extracurricular activities at HTW, Model UN, etc. Understanding cultural differences and how to work in a multi-cultural setup was also a great experience. I made friends from across the world, worked with them and explored Europe by travelling to more than 12 countries till date.
