MUMBAI:
Devendra Fadnavis,
Maharashtra’s longest-serving single-term chief minister in 47 years, on Tuesday recorded the state’s shortest stint for a CM—of just 80 hours— thereby also becoming the CM with the third shortest tenure in independent India.
Fadnavis is only the second CM in the state to complete a full five-year term. Before him, this feat was achieved by Vasantrao Naik (Congress), who completed full tenure in 1972.
Here's a look at the CMs with the shortest tenures.
