Chairman of the hardline Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Shah Geelani, was on Friday taken into preventive custody.
SRINAGAR: Chairman of the hardline faction of the Hurriyat Conference, Syed Ali Shah Geelani, was on Friday taken into preventive custody in Budgam district of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources said.
Geelani and four of his associates were taken into custody by the police at Mirgund as he was heading towards Baramulla to address Friday prayers and a public meeting, the sources said.
