NEW DELHI: BJP stormed back to power for the unprecedented third time in Haryana assembly polls, bagging 48 seats in the 90-member House.
BJP's rival Congress, which was eyeing a return to power after 10 years, won only 37 seats, with Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) winning two and independents three seats, respectively.

Congress veteran Bhupinder Singh Hooda winsCongress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda won the Garhi Sampla-Kiloi constituency in Rohtak district by a margin of 71465 votes. Hooda secured 108539 votes to defeat BJP's Manju, who got 37074 votes.
However, Hooda, who was eyeing a full majority for the Congress, faced a setback as the party fell short of a majority.
INLD's Abhay Chautala loses from EllenabadIndian National Lok Dal leader Abhay Singh Chautala lost the Ellenabad assembly seat in Haryana. Chautala lost by 15000 votes from his rival and Congress candidate Bharat Singh Beniwal, who received 77865.

Independent candidate Chitra Sarwara received 52581 votes and stood on second position in the polls.
Wrestler-turned-politician Vinesh Phogat wins Julana Congress candidate and wrestler Vinesh Phogat won Julana by receiving 65080. She defeated BJP's Yogesh Kumar by 6015 votes. Several political parties had announced their candidates for the Haryana Assembly Elections from the Julana constituency. The prominent parties fielding candidates include Bharatiya Janata Party, Indian National Congress, Indian National Lok Dal, and Aam Aadmi Party.
Savitri Jindal wins Hisar Savitri Jindal, India's richest woman and an independent candidate, won Hisar by receiving 49231 votes. She defeated Congress's Ram Niswas Rara by 18941 votes.
Chief minister Nayab Singh Saini wins LadwaHaryana chief minister and Bharatiya Janata Party leader Nayab Singh Saini won in the Ladwa Assembly constituency as he received 70177 votes. He defeated Congress's Mewa Singh by 16054 votes.

BJP's Darshan Kumar wins Basholi BJP candidate from Basholi, Darshan Singh says, "I thank the people of Basholi as I have a lead of 12,000 votes. They want change, and are ready to go with BJP and PM Modi."
Omar Abdullah wins from BudgamNational Conference vice president Omar Abdullah won the Budgam constituency with a margin of over 18,000 votes. Abdullah also won the Ganderbal constituency.
JK Cong chief Tariq Karra Jammu and Kashmir Congress chief Tariq Karra on Tuesday secured 18933 votes and won the Central Shalteng assemlby seat.
The NC and the Congress had entered into a pre-poll alliance in Jammu and Kashmir and there was a friendly contest between the two in five seats. Some leaders from the two parties, including Shah, had rebelled against their decision to join hands and contested the polls as Independents.
BJP chief Ravinder Raina lost from Nowshera constituency. She recieved 27250 votes and was defeated by Surider Kumar Choudhary of the JKNC by 7819 votes.
According to the Election Commission, the alliance between Congress and the National Conference crossed the halfway mark, winning 49 seats in the J&K polls. BJP won 29 and Mehbooba's PDP won 3 seats in the assembly polls. Independent candidates won nine seats in J&K.

The party will be winning around 55 seats, the BJP 27 seats, INLD 2 seats, JJP 1 seat and others around 5 seats. As per pollster Matrize, Congress is expected to win 55-62 seats, BJP 18-24, INLD 3-6, JJP 0-3 and others 2-5 seats. Peoples Pulse has predicted that the Congress will secure around 49-61 seats, BJP 20-32, INLD 2-3, JJP 0-1 and others 3-5 seats.
