Star witness deposes in Priya murder case
MUMBAI: A star prosecution witness Suresh Armugam (17) in the Priya Rajwansh murder trial on Tuesday said that he had heard the Anand brothers, Ketan and Vivek, conspiring with their servants Ashokan Chinnaswamy and Mala Choudhary to kill the former actress.
Armugam, a former servant at the Anand household, was deposing before sessions judge S.P. Nikam, who is presiding over a day-to-day trial in the murder case.

The former actress, a close friend of late filmmaker Chetan Anand, was found murdered in his Juhu bungalow on March 27, 2000. Ketan and Vivek Anand, sons of Chetan Anand, and their two servants Ashoka and Mala are the four accused in the case. The case is largely based on circumstantial evidence.
The police theory is that Ketan and Vivek had conspired to kill her due to a property dispute. Priya was assigned one-third share of property by Chetan Anand in his will.
However, the Anand brothers refuted the police claim and stated that there was no quarrel between them over the property. The bungalow occupied by Chetan Anand was a rented property.
Public prosecutor Kiran Makasare produced two witnesses to depose before the court of which Armugam was the star witness.
