SHILLONG: ULFA is running seven hotels of international standards in Dhaka, Chittagong and Sylet in Bangladesh and also operating three bank accounts in that country, the Border Security Force said on Friday. Three of the hotels Surma International were located in Dhaka - Taj Mahal road, Hotel Mohammadia in Mirpur and Padma International in Banani, BSF Inspector-General of Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur and Nagaland (AMMN) Frontier S C Srivastava said.

The hotels were managed by Subal Barua alias Ahmed Satish Sharma alias Kamal and Ashish Deka alias Hossain, he said. In Sylhet, the militant group has two hotels. Keya International in Zinda bazar area managed by Dulal Roy alias Saidul and Yamuna in University road managed by Anil Dey alias Sohal, he said. Another two - Hotel Basundhara managed by Subhash Deka alias Humayun and Raj King managed by Kanailal Barman alias Rubel - were located in Chittagong's Halishahar and Pahartali areas. All the managers of the hotels were "cadres of the proscribed outfit", the IG said. The three accounts were traced to Arab Bangladesh Bank's Farm Gate branch in Dhaka, Zinda Bazar branch in Sylhet and Al-Barakah Bank's Pahartali branch in Chittagong.
