NEW DELHI: Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath assured citizens on Friday that their safety is the government’s top priority as multiple districts reported heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, hailstorms, and lightning.
In a message on X, CM Yogi said, "Information of thunderstorms, rain, and hailstorms has been received from many districts in the state. But there is no need to worry. The safety of every resident of the state is the priority of your government."

He confirmed that immediate action is being taken to assist affected areas, with district authorities instructed to carry out surveys and launch relief operations. Officers have also been directed to ensure that relief funds are promptly distributed in case of casualties or injuries, with proper medical treatment provided to the injured.
CM Yogi also addressed concerns over agricultural damage, particularly during the wheat procurement season. He ordered officials to inspect mandis and purchase centers to ensure wheat is safely stored and to assess crop damage for further action.
