Bringing a plant home and then seeing it grow but then die or wilt is completely heartbreaking. The yellow leaves upset people and discourage them from bringing new plants home. But, what if there were some plants that when cared for right could live for years and years?

One of the most luxurious-looking plants is the Monstera, and with dark green leaves and cut-patterns all over them, the Monstera is a beauty to have. And to put cherry on cake, Monstera, when given the right sunlight and maintenance, will continue to grow for years.

The Snake plant is a household favourite, and is super low-maintenance. It has tall,arching leaves, a mix of green and yellow colours on the leaves, and when given the right water and sunlight conditions, it will continue to grow for years to come.

Also called the ‘goodluck Jade’, this plant is considered positive in Feng shui, and with its thick, fleshy leaves gives the home a very soft, minimal look. And for its growth, if the Jade plant is pruned well and maintained, it lives on for years, also producing flowers at times.

Pothos is an evergreen plant and is nearly impossible to kill, even in the hottest or coldest conditions. The Pothos vines are easy to grow and propagate, and with good care they’ll continue growing for years.

Aloe vera is a plant that likes to grow wild and spreads itself around easily. And while it is extremely low-maintenance, if fed with the right compost or manure, it will continue growing for years to come, and even propagate well.
