Lion has forever been the undisputed King of the jungle. It is fast, ferocious, powerful, and simply wild. But millions of years ago, there were animals much scarier and fierce than the lion, fit to be the Kings of the jungle, and here we mention some of them.

The Tyrannosaurus rex, popularly known as the T-Rex today, is probably the most excellent competitor for a lion to be named King od the Jungle. It could grow up to 40 feet long, had powerful jaws, and could crush bones with its bite.

Another animal that could give the lion a run for its Kingship is the Smilodon. It was an Ice Age animal with huge, curved canine teeth and a strong, muscular body.

An animal of not the jungle, but the sea, would have been the Megalodon. It was a gigantic shark that lived millions of years ago and had teeth as big as the human face.

Another animal that could have defeated the lion to become the King was the Andrewsarchus. It is believed that it looked like a mix of a wolf and a pig, but was triple the height and much more powerful.

An animal that could have ruled the land, the sea, the oceans, and more, was the Deinosuchus. It was way bigger than any crocodile could be today, and had sharp teeth, powerful jaws, and a death drip.

Although the Woolly mammoth was a herbivore, its sheer size and strength could have given the modern lion a run for its title of the King. The Woolly mammoth was a part of the Ice age, and with huge tusks and body, it could have easily been the king.

A scarily large pig that could have given even a lion the ‘chills�?was the Entelodon. It is predicted to have a bulky body, long legs, and large teeth, that would help it chase, injure, or even eat other animals.

The slithering giant that could have eaten the Lion alive would be the Titanoboa. It was a giant snake that lived millions of years ago, and weighed pretty heavy too. With its sheer size, it could crush its enemy and swallow them whole.
