Teeth are a very important part of the human body and mouth. They help us chew and break down food for better digestion, and being toothless is almost painful. But, there are certain animals that do not have any teeth to chew their food and here we list some of them.

One of the most unique and unusual looking animals in the world, Anteaters do not have any teeth, but rather a long, sticky tongue instead of teeth. They also have powerful claws to rip open ant and termite mounds.

Another animal who does not have any teeth is the Pangolin. These scaly creatures also have long tongues to scoop up their food, mostly ants, and then they are digested in their stomachs.

Another animal that eats without teeth is the turtle. And to chew food, while they do not have teeth, there are sharp, beak-like structures in their mouths.

Most bird species do not have any teeth, like the pigeons, chickens, and even eagles, and they either peck at their food or swallow it whole.

Another animal, this time from the sea, that has no teeth is the Octopus. Octopuses can camouflage, be trained, and even swim really quickly, and they have no teeth but just a sharp beak, which they use to crush and tear apart prey.

The little creatures of the sea, Seahorses are unique in many ways. Male seahorses for example carry their babies in their pouch, and both male and female seahorses do not have any teeth.

The only mammal that lays eggs, Platypus also has no teeth to chew its food. It just uses its bill to scoop up insects, worms, and other food.

Another animal that eats and chews without food is the Spider. Most spiders lack teeth, and instead have fangs to hunt at their prey.

Earthworms too don’t have teeth, but their food also does not require any chewing. They eat or consume soil, organic matter, and decaying plants.
