Indian Railways is all set to take a major step to ensure more and more people enjoy train travel experience in India. By extending the Leave Travel Concession (LTC) program, the Ministry of Railways has taken a major step to improve the travel experience for public servants. Greater accessibility and convenience are provided by this development, which expands the number of premium trains that qualify for LTC travel.

The Department of Personnel & Training introduced the scheme, which permits central government employees to travel to their hometown or any other location in India using LTC benefits. The revised guidelines define travel entitlements based on employee grade levels. For short and medium-distance journeys on trains like Vande Bharat, Tejas, and Shatabdi, employees at Levels 11 and below can reserve chair car seats, while those at Levels 12 and above can reserve executive chair car seats.

Employees in Level 12 and up are eligible for AC first-class travel on trains with berth options, such the Rajdhani Express, for long-distance travel. AC second-class berths are available to employees in Levels 6 through 11, while AC third-class berths are available to those in Levels 5 and lower.

LTC is a fantastic benefit that allows government employees to benefit from cheap travel to their hometowns or other locations over a four-year period. For their hometown or both their hometown and other locales, employees can take advantage of LTC twice. This incentive encourages employees to travel, explore, and utilise first-rate services as they rejuvenate for their professional commitments.

The expansion of eligible trains is expected to have a positive impact on employee satisfaction, making premium train travel more accessible to a wider group of government employees. With 385 trains now available under LTC, the Ministry of Railways has set a new benchmark for improving travel experiences for its workforce.

This initiative reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring a comfortable and luxurious journey for its employees, fostering a sense of appreciation and motivation among the workforce.
