NEW DELHI: Rohan Jaitley, son of former finance minister and Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) president Arun Jaitley, has decided to get into cricket administration. He has filed his nomination for the post of DDCA president on Wednesday.
Rohan’s name was proposed by former acting president of the Indian cricket board (BCCI) CK Khanna. Khanna’s wife Sashi Khanna too has filed her nomination for the post of treasurer.
The DDCA has been a headless body for nearly a year after Rajat Sharma resigned from the post citing corruption and unprofessionalism in the association.

Following Sharma, a lot of office bearers have been suspended at different times by the High Court and DDCA ombudsman. This has led to allegations of financial irregularities in the association with the cricketing staff going unpaid.
The various factions in DDCA have been trying to convince Rohan to take up the post for a few months. It’s likely he will be a unanimous choice while there will be a contest for the other posts. The BCCI also has withheld the funds allotted to DDCA as the association has not submitted the necessary financial documents.
