The Los Angeles Dodgers have one of the highest payrolls in the league. The team has spent over $400 Million in its payroll, for the 2025 MLB season. While the Dodgers had to face criticism for the same throughout the offseason, Freddie Freeman feels that the team's payroll spree is justified.

Freddie Freeman claims to be on the Dodgers' side for a massive payroll spree

The Los Angeles Dodgers have been spending massive amounts on payrolls, over the years. The Dodgers did the same thing this season when they spent around $400 Million and payrolls. However, according to Freddie Freeman, the Dodgers are just trying to "put the best product" on the field. Sharing his take via MLB Network on Wednesday, Freeman said:
"It's special to be part of. For an organization, ownership group, front office to go out there and keep adding [to an already well-rounded squad], and trying to put the best product that we possibly can on the field."

"It's on us to go out there on the field and play. I think you know, we wish it was more predictable than it is, but they (Dodgers organization) gave us every chance to go out there and be special on the field, so hopefully we can do that," Freeman further added.
Freddie Freeman suffered ankle surgery in the offseason, which led to speculations that he might miss out on the 2025 MLB season. However, that's not indeed the case. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts recently shed light on Freeman's injury status and said:
“The running, he’s passed all those check marks. The hitting, the running, fielding the grounders we feel real good about. Jumping and coming down on the ankle is something we just don’t feel 100 percent yet so he’s going to test that out."
Freddie Freeman joined the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2022 and signed a massive 6-years contract worth $162 Million. The deal comes with $162 Million guaranteed money, with an average annual salary of $27 Million. According to the contract, Freeman is set to become a free agent in 2028. Do you think Freeman would be able to play injury-free this season?
