- New York Yankees wins game against Tampa Blue Rays
- Yankees’ Jazz Chisholm Jr. falls in trouble over a social media post after the umpire argued over third strike
- Chisholm says he was emotional and lost his cool
The New York Yankees have managed to win their fourth game in a row. They beat the Tampa Bay Rays by 6-3 on Thursday night, however, what followed next, was straight out of a movie scene. Yankees’ second baseman, Jazz Chisholm Jr. couldn’t attend the celebrations, since he was thrown out of the game by the umpire after arguing about a third strike. The pitch looked like it was too low, but the umpire still called it a strike, forcing Jazz to be upset about the whole situation.
What happened led to Jazz Chisholm Jr. being upset mid game?
Interestingly, when Jazz Chisholm Jr. was kicked out of the game, he went on social media and posted, “Not even f---ing close!” since he was angry about the strike call. However, later he deleted the post. MLB might still put a fine on him since there was a violation regarding what MLB players can post online and what they cannot.
This was the fifth time in his career that Chisholm has been ejected from a game, and the first time since joining the Yankees.
Jazz Chisholm said he lost his cool
Reaching to the entire situation, Jazz Chisholm said:
“I’m out here trying to win a game, I’m out here battling the best and working my butt off every at-bat. I’m trying to be the best player I can be. So when I feel like something’s messed up, I lost my emotions, I lost my cool.”Further, he added that no matter what, he has to continue to play. He said:
“At the same time, I still gotta be able to stay out there and go out and play defense for my team. That’s why I’m here, to be able to stay out there, hit in the middle of the lineup and play defense. On me, I gotta be better in that aspect for helping my team.”Also Read:
