UFC recently announced the departure of several fighters, including lightweight fighter Jalin Turner, women’s flyweight Montana De La Rosa, heavyweight Marcos Rogerio De Lima, and women’s strawweight So Yul Kim. While Turner announced his retirement owing to the consecutive and disheartening losses he faced in his last few matches, the other players were cut loose for either the dubious losing streak or lack of fights by the athletes.

Jalin Turner announced his early retirement after the loss at UFC 313

After his last defeat at UFC 313 against Ignacio Bahamondes, Turner announced his early retirement at the age of 29. Many still believed that he was still in his fighting prime. In a recent interview with Ariel Helwani, the fighter revealed how he does not regret the decision and is happy to reflect on the future prospects.

“Yeah, I’m still feeling the same way [about retirement]. It’s been settling in a little bit more. I got my retirement letter from the UFC, and I still stand by the decision [so] that’s where I’m at right now with it.”
His official exit from the UFC was announced on the social media page of UFC Roster Watch on X.

“My face when UFC makes the worst men's division even worse with weird cuts”

Finally, UFC announced its latest cutoff from the women’s strawweight division, So Yul Kim. The South Korean fighter was signed by the UFC pertaining to her brilliant stats of 8-1-0. However, she never fought within the promotion and was ultimately cut loose in 2025.
