The NBA world is still processing the blockbuster trade that sent Luka Doncic from the Dallas Mavericks and brought Anthony Davis from the Los Angeles Lakers. Nearly a week later, the shockwaves continue to ripple through the league, sparking debates among fans and analysts alike. Amid the ongoing reactions, Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green has added his voice to the conversation. Green delivered a blunt message to Mavericks fans, addressing how Davis will impact Dallas' future.

“Everybody acts like they didn’t get Anthony Davis back. Everybody was like, ‘Oh, they should’ve gotten more picks.’ Bro, they got Anthony Davis at 31,” Green shared on The Draymond Green Show with Baron Davis.

Further, Green firmly believes that Davis has a stronger basketball resume than Doncic and he has already achieved a lot in his career. “No disrespect to Luka, Anthony Davis is a top 75 player in NBA history,” Green shared comparing two of the most valuable players in the league. “Luka is not that now. He has the potential to be that, and he will be top 100 by the time it comes out, but Anthony Davis is a perennial All-Star, a top 75 player,” he added.

Certainly, there have been several growing negative feedbacks for the Mavericks over trading Doncic as they have acquired Davis who is now 31 while Doncic is 25. The age factor raised questions about the team’s decision as Doncic will have several years at his hands to play for the Lakers. Green further slammed the critics for dismissing Davis’ astonishing legacy, “Everyone acts like he’s nobody.” But reflecting on the trade, he shared that it has surprised him like everybody in the NBA community. “Nonetheless, it [the trade] was very shocking," he added.

Draymond Green didn’t hold back when discussing the Mavericks’ shocking decision to trade Doncic. According to the Warriors forward, the move came down to one simple reason— Dallas didn’t value Doncic the way their fans did. Doncic has been accused of disciplinary issues that fueled the surprising trade. "Number one, as great as Luka Doncic is, he's not drafted by the current general manager of the Dallas Mavericks,” Green stated. So as great as he is, general managers have in their mind how they see fit a team they construct and how they want it to work. How they see it working and getting to and winning a championship," he added.
