Bo Nix is making waves in his rookie season with the Denver Broncos, and his wife, Izzy, couldn't be prouder as the team inches closer to breaking an eight-year playoff drought. The only other time the Broncos participated in a game during the playoffs for 2015 was during Super Bowl 50. Today, having the team at a sensitive phase of the season, this is a chance to head into the playoffs, and Izzy can't have enough of this excitement.
Izzy Proudly Supports Bo and the Broncos
It is quite evident that Izzy Nix is completely invested in her husband's journey. She took to Instagram and posted a heartfelt message to show how proud she is. In the picture of herself and Bo on the field, she wrote, "Proud to be a Bronco!!!!!!" Clearly, she's riding high with the team's chances, and she's not alone. The Broncos have been on a tear recently, and they're now 9-5, sitting comfortably in the playoff hunt.

The Broncos emerged victorious in a big win against the Indianapolis Colts, improving their record to 9-5, putting them second in the AFC West behind the Kansas City Chiefs. If they can win their next game against the Los Angeles Chargers, they will move one step closer to putting an end to their long playoff drought. Currently, they hold the No. 6 seed in the entire AFC.
Bo Nix's Performance has been Underwhelming
But let’s talk about Bo Nix. Despite the win, his rookie performance still left a lot to be desired. He managed three touchdowns via air, but his three interceptions—far from what you expect your quarterback to provide on game day. The rest was well-struggled and managed for only 20 completed out of 33 pass attempts and a pitiful 130 yards total through the air. Still, the Broncos went on to win despite that, mainly due to some good plays from their defense and special teams which also scored 21 during the fourth quarter.
After the game, Nix didn't run away from his performance. "I've got to be better. regardless that's three [interceptions], you start feeling like every time I throw it is it going to get picked? You start having those mental thoughts, it's challenging," he said. You can tell it's been tough for the rookie, but he's learning and growing with every game.
Coach Payton Shares Accountability
Coach Sean Payton did too, reflecting on some of that responsibility Nix faced by himself admitting that some of the calls he made hadn't done much to help the young quarterback. "I get mad at myself, a couple of the calls I gave him," Payton said. “There were just a few forced throws and a few dumb calls by me that I’ve got to be better.” It’s clear that both Nix and Payton are working hard to figure things out, and with a couple of critical games left, they’ll need to step it up.
Bo Nix has much to do, though, because only a few games left before matches against some difficult teams from the AFC will bring in the Cincinnati Bengals and Kansas City Chiefs for him to play. Those rookie mistakes have to go, and he needs more consistency if he is going all the way with his teammates to get to the postseason and end their year.
