As rumors swirl about Aaron Rodgers’ future in the NFL, one of the league’s most respected veterans, Pittsburgh Steelers defensive tackle Cam Heyward, is stepping up to defend the former MVP—and he’s not mincing words.
Heyward took to social media to criticize how the New York Jets allegedly informed Rodgers of their decision to move on from him, following Rodgers' explosive comments on The Pat McAfee Show last week. The four-time MVP described his meeting with Jets brass as abrupt and disrespectful, a sentiment Heyward strongly echoed.

“How can this be praised? This ain’t cool,” Cam Heyward wrote on X in response to a post praising Jets head coach Aaron Glenn for “facing” Rodgers in person. To Heyward, the optics may seem professional, but the process lacked integrity.

His brother, Corey Heyward, chimed in with a touch of humor: “You better stand up for your teammate.” Cam replied firmly, “That ain’t business… communicate with agent if you don’t want deal with it.. has nothin to do with being my teammate.”
This moment underscores Heyward’s stance not just as a player, but as a leader who values transparency and respect in professional relationships.

Aaron Rodgers recounts being blindsided after flying across the country

On The Pat McAfee Show, Rodgers painted a frustrating picture of how his time with the Jets came to an end. “I figured that when I flew across country on my own dime that there was going to be a conversation,” he explained.
He described how the head coach briefly left the room, only to return with the general manager and deliver a shocking message just seconds into their sit-down: “So, do you want to play football?” Rodgers recalled responding, “Yeah, I’m interested.” The GM replied, “We’re going in a different direction at quarterback.”
Rodgers added, “You could have told me this on the phone if we weren’t even going to have a conversation.” The entire interaction lasted less than 15 minutes.

While no official move has been made, the buzz around Rodgers potentially landing in Pittsburgh has been building. The Steelers are set to face the Jets at MetLife Stadium in 2025, and if Rodgers were to suit up in black and gold, it would make for one of the season’s most explosive matchups—fueled by tension, redemption, and a whole lot of unfinished business.
