You know the days when a state holiday made you happier, especially when it rained a lot, snowed too much, or fogged the roads blind? That’s the kind of holiday that Detroit Lions’ head coach’s wife, Holly Campbell, expected from the Governor of Michigan on February 10, 2025!
A cute little Instagram post captured the curiosity of Holly Campbell and she couldn’t help herself from tagging the Governor of Michigan with a plea! Read on to know the deets.
Detroit Lions have never played in a Super Bowl
An Instagram account, by the name of Jacqueline Pigula, posted a story of a cute little letter written by Drew. The letter (in a baby’s handwriting) read,
“Dear Governor Whitmer,
We want to have no school on February 10, 2025, because the Lions have never played in a Super Bowl. One reason to cancel school is to make history. Would like to stay up late and watch with my family. Please close schools in Michigan on Feb 10th so we can all celebrate history!!!!
From, Drew.”
Holly Campbell, wife of the head coach of the Detroit Lions, Dan, reposted this sweet urgency letter with a caption,
“ @getwhitmer I think this is worth thinking about .
To everyone’s surprise, the Governor of Michigan responded
In January 2025, this darling letter went viral on the internet and reached the smartphone of the Governor of Michigan, Gretchen Whitmer.
The 49th Governor of Michigan, a proud mom herself, responded and reposted the lovely little letter with the caption,
“”—meaning the governor was thinking, considering, contemplating, reasoning, pondering, and we could go on…
Whether to let Drew enjoy the game day with his family or have him learn cursive writing in school instead!
Dan Campbell’s wife, Holly, could not wait to do it all over again!
Back in January 2025, excited about the playoffs, Holly Campbell took to her Instagram and shared a video of the Detroit fans, the stadium, and the like. She shared the spirit of the Lions and why the North belongs to the Lions! Sounded much like Lady Catelyn Stark from the Game of Thrones.
Mrs. Campbell captioned it with: “Can’t wait to do it again!!!! #onepride #mypeople #fansarefamily”
