Will Riley Leonard replace Aaron Rodgers as the quarterback for the New York Jets?

Aaron Rodgers faced a challenging 2024 NFL season with the New York Jets, leading to significant changes in coaching and management. New GM Darren Mougey is considering Notre Dame QB Riley Leonard as a potential pick for the 2025 NFL draft due to his impressive performance and physical skills.

A lot went against the 41-year-old Ayahuasca retreat lover and New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers in the NFL 2024 season. His team suffered a brutal loss of 12 games and won only 5. This score resulted in the termination of the head coach, Robert Saleh, and general manager, Joe Douglas.
Aaron Glenn became the head coach, and Darren Mougey took on the general manager’s role. Even Rick Spielman was hired to become the Senior Football Advisor for the Jets. What did not change was the Ayahuasca retreat lover, the Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Michael Nania of Jets X-Factor foresees that the Jets will change their QB and make Riley Leonard their quarterback.

What Riley Leonard promises is a stunning performance as a quarterback - 982 rushing yards, 17 rushing touchdowns, and 42 missed tackles in the 2024 season. Leonard led Notre Dame Fighting Irish to 11 wins and 1 loss.
Riley is 6 feet 4 inches tall and weighs 216 pounds. Michael Nania called 22-year-old (almost half of Aaron Rodgers' age!) Riley Leonard a moldable clay that any coaching staff could mold and teach how to be a quarterback. Darren Mougey, the GM of the Jets, is eyeing Riley Leonard to become a late-round pick for the 2025 NFL draft.
Michael Nania shared, “Some might consider this too early for the Jets to roll the dice on a wild-card quarterback, but with a new GM and no quarterback of the future on the roster, it would be surprising if Mougey attacked the position earlier than expected. Leonard at least has tantalizing upside based on his physical tools, unlike Joe Douglas’ fourth-round quarterback pick in his first draft class, James Morgan.”

Michael Nania foresees that Leonard Riley could be Darren Mougey’s fourth-round pick for the 2025 NFL draft. Nania shared,
“Leonard is considered an extremely raw passer in terms of his mechanics, footwork, and timing, which is why he will probably not be selected until later in the draft despite his tools and production. However, his stock seems to be rising after he generated positive buzz at the Senior Bowl, and he may help himself out if tests well at the combine.”
