"It's nice to have him back on the ice," Avalanche coach Jared Bednar is happy for Gabriel Landeskog

Jared Bednar, the head coach of the Colorado Avalanche, is optimistic about Gabriel Landeskog's progress as the left winger returns to practice after a long absence due to knee injury and subsequent surgery. Landeskog, 32, is determined to manage his condition to continue playing hockey and aims to push his limits in his comeback.

"Well, he's looking good. I thought he looked great in practice today. Obviously, just like sort of the flow-and-go, non-contact stuff. Certainly, nice to have him out there. He's making strides." Colorado Avalanche head coach Jared Bednar welcomes Gabriel Landeskog, a Swedish professional ice hockey left winger and captain for the Colorado Avalanche, with his open arms at the Family Sports on Monday.

When the Colorado Hockey Now's reporter questioned if there's a return tag on the captain who was away for three long NHL seasons from 2022-2023 to 2024-2025, coach Jared Bednar replied, "It's really hard to say, but things are going great, and it's certainly nice to have him back on the ice with our team. Just the energy and sort of attitude that he brings to the ice. I think helps everybody."

"He's still making progress," assures Colorado Avalanche head coach Jared Bednar about Gabriel Landeskog

"He's making strides. This rehab is not linear. There are lots of peaks and valleys in it. But he's still making progress, obviously feeling comfortable enough to join the team with certain drills. So, hopeful that continues and continues to grow, and working to a point of a return." shared Jared Bednar with Colorado Hockey Now about Gabriel Landeskog's return to the NHL arena.

"How far can I push it?" Gabriel Landeskog talks about wanting hockey more than ever

First, it was a serious knee injury back in the 2022-2023 NHL season. Then came the cartilage transplant surgery in May 2023. And, after so long, now in March 2025, Gabriel Landeskog is back to practice.
Addressing Peter Baugh from The Athletic earlier this month, Gabriel Landeskog shared, "Here I am, 32 years old, really wanting to play hockey and really wanting to continue and see where I can take this thing. I think that's maybe where we are in terms of this whole thing - how far can I push it? How good can I get it? And I understand I'm probably not going to skate completely pain-free again, but I want to be able to get to a point where I can at least manage it and then make a decision for myself and see where we end up."
