NEW DELHI: Cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar cast his vote on Wednesday at a polling station in Mumbai during the Maharashtra elections 2024.

He was accompanied by his wife, Anjali, and daughter, Sara, who also exercised their voting rights. After casting their votes, the family proudly displayed their inked fingers.

Tendulkar emphasized the importance of voting, urging citizens to fulfill their responsibility.

"I have been an icon of the ECI (Election Commission of India) for quite some time now. The message I am giving is to vote. It is our responsibility. I urge everyone to come out and vote," the cricketing icon said.

Retired in 2013, Tendulkar has set unmatched records in both ODI and Test cricket.

In ODIs, he played 463 matches, scoring a record 18,426 runs at an average of 44.83, with 49 centuries and a highest score of 200*.

In Tests, Tendulkar scored 15,921 runs in 200 matches at an average of 53.78, including 51 centuries and a best of 248*.
