Despite facing a four-point deficit in the first game, Lakshya managed to turn the tables and claim the set. He maintained his dominance throughout the second game, outplaying Carraggi.

However, Lakshya's impressive win over Guatemala's Kevin Cordon on Sunday was nullified after Cordon withdrew from the Olympics due to a left elbow injury. As a result, Cordon's upcoming Group L matches against Indonesia's Jonatan Christie and Belgium's Julien Carraggi will not take place.

In accordance with the BWF General Competition Regulations for group stage play, the result of the match between Lakshya Sen and Kevin Cordon was removed from the records.

Lakshya's ranking will now be determined based on his performance in the remaining two matches in Group L.
