Sheamus advances in WWE Speed Number One Contender’s Tournament

The October 16 episode of WWE Speed kicked off a new Number One Contender’s Tournament. In the first match, Sheamus took on Giovanni Vinci and came out on top, advancing to the quarterfinals.

However, there is a long way to go as several first-round matchups are yet to happen which include Bron Breakker vs. Cruz Del Toro, Dragon Lee vs. Tavion Heights, and Akira Tozawa vs. Riley Osborne. Sheamus is set to face the winner of the Breakker vs. Del Toro bout. The tournament winner will earn a shot at Andrade’s WWE Speed Championship.
Following his win against Giovanni Vinci, Sheamus took to his social media to celebrate the victory, "I feel the need..," the 46-year-old wrote on X.

WWE Speed Champion Andrade retained his title in June. During his reign, he had three title defenses where he defeated Xavier Woods, Baron Corbin, and Pete Dunne.
The men’s Speed Tournament happened just a week after the inaugural Speed Women’s Championship where Candice LeRae came out victorious defeating Iyo Sky in the finals of a tournament.
As for Sheamus, the superstar was absent in the recent episode of Monday Night Raw. Prior to that, on last week's episode of Monday Night Raw, The Celtic Warrior defeated his former ally Pete Dunne in a Good Ol' Fashioned Donnybrook Match.
Former Brawling Brutes teammates Sheamus and Dunne clashed in a heated feud since Sheamus’ return to WWE. On the October 7 episode of WWE RAW, they had a brutal brawl. After a brutal back-and-forth, Dunne zip-tied Sheamus' hands, but got distracted by the crowd calling him "Butch." Seizing the moment, Sheamus nailed Dunne with a surprise Brogue Kick to win the match, ending their rivalry in dramatic fashion.
Following the match, Sheamus showed his scars on his back on social media.
