Apple CEO Tim Cook was not aware of this iPhone feature; are you using it?

Apple CEO Tim Cook recently revealed a surprising gap in his personal use of iMessage during an interview with The Wall Street Journal Magazine. When asked about naming group chats, Cook admitted that he had never used this feature, replying, "I don’t name them." After learning about it, he went on to name a group chat with his college friends “Roommates.” This discovery highlighted how even seasoned tech leaders can overlook certain product functionalities.

Cook starts his day early, waking at 4 AM to check emails and sales reports on his iPhone. Fitness plays a vital role in his routine, where he uses the Apple Watch to track his workouts, and listens to classic rock music via AirPods. At work, he uses several Apple devices, including a MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, and iMac, while opting for the iPad Pro when travelling.

Cook’s leadership philosophy at Apple is centred around focus and strategic decision-making. He explained how Apple consistently chooses to pursue the great ideas over merely good ones, ensuring that innovation remains at the core of their projects. His mantra of "every day, every product" emphasises the dedication that drives Apple’s continued success in the tech industry.

Although Cook missed out on a feature in iMessage, the interview demonstrated how even the CEO of Apple is still learning and evolving with the company’s products. His interaction with the iMessage group chat feature exemplifies the user-friendly approach Apple strives for in its designs, making technology accessible for everyone, regardless of their familiarity.
