Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has reportedly purchased a 14,400-square-foot mansion and another six-bedroom property adjacent to it worth $35 million dollars in Austin, Texas. The New York Times report says that Musk, when in Austin, often stays at a third mansion about a 10-minute walk away from the mansion.

Source close to the tech billionaire told the publication that he intends for his children (of which there are at least 11) and two of their three mothers to reside in these neighbouring properties. This arrangement, the source said, will “let his younger children be a part of one another’s lives, and Mr. Musk could schedule time among them.”

Elon Musk has fathered 12 children. His first child with his ex-wife, Justine Musk, died of sudden infant death syndrome at just 10 weeks old. The couple had five children using IVF - twins Griffin and Vivian, followed by triplets Saxon, Damian, and Kai.
