Infosys has fired 240 additional trainees who failed to pass internal assessment tests, according to company emails sent on April 18. This follows a similar round of layoffs in February when the IT giant let go of over 300 trainees.
"You have not met the qualifying criteria in the 'Generic foundation training program' despite the additional preparation time, doubt-clearing sessions, several mock assessments and three attempts. As a result, you will not be able to continue your journey for the apprenticeship program,” stated the termination email sent today, April 18th, as reviewed by Times of India.

Infosys’ email to affected trainees details multiple support options

The company, in collaboration with NIIT and UpGrad, is offering free upskilling programs to support affected trainees, including those who faced layoffs in February. The company's email explained that these programs are designed to "prepare for potential roles in the BPM industry" or to continue "honing your IT skills".
