Here’s what the company's warning says

“Beware of fake WhatsApp and Telegram groups. Recently we have come across fake WhatsApp and Telegram groups being created in the name of Zerodha and
@Nithin0dha. Here are a few things to keep in mind,” the company wrote in a post on X.

“Scammers often lure unsuspecting individuals by promising financial advice, exclusive webinars, and stock tips. They use Zerodha logo and names like “Zerodha Trading Club” to appear real,” it added.

The company further warns it customers that once you are added to the groups:

  • They offer free financial webinars or stock tips as bait.
  • Build trust over time, making the group seem helpful and genuine.
  • Eventually pitch paid services, asking for money transfers for exclusive access.

“Remember, if someone is promising guaranteed returns, it's 100% a scam. Also, never share your account credentials, passwords, or any personal information with anyone,” Zerodha added in the post.
