Cholamandal Artists’ Village

This artists’ commune in south Chennai was established in 1966, as a place where artists could live, work and display their art together. It now has a lovely art museum that focuses on the Madras School of Art that flourished here between the 1950s and the 1980s, as well as newer work by its residents. The Shiraz Café located next to the museum, offers Iranian and Middle-Eastern delicacies.
