Karan Veer Mehra, recently crowned the winner of Khatron Ke Khiladi 14, joined Times of India TV for a brief interview. He discussed his journey on the show, his winning moment, and his relationships with fellow contestants. Karan also addressed the much-talked-about altercation between Asim Riaz and Rohit Shetty, as well as the rumours surrounding his participation in Bigg Boss 18. During the chat, he revealed that he has a man crush on Rohit Shetty and credited him for his victory. He also spoke fondly of his bond with Shilpa Shinde, describing her as misunderstood. Commenting on Asim Riaz's infamous fight with Rohit Shetty and Abhishek Kumar, Karan noted that not everyone can handle success and suggested that if Asim had been more strategic, he might have won the show. I will get to know soon how this trophy is going to change things for me. Of course the choices have increased, the work that I’m getting. But to change the game, I think I’m way too deep in the game to change anything, because I can’t do anything different. I can just present different characters which obviously I’m going to do. The bonding between us was great because everyone wanted to get the trophy. Nobody on the show just for the heck of it or for time pass. That was the bond that the batch shared. If people liked the entertainment quotient that I got on the show is because that's what I’m. I was just being myself. I wanted to show people how I’m in real life. (Photo: Instagram)

I would credit my victory to Rohit Shetty sir and not just me, all the other contestants will credit him for the way each one of us has performed on the show. Every stunt feels like a lifespan. The moment you feel low, I think everyone in their life should have a Rohit Shetty who can boost them up. Aur aap jab Apna lowest phase par kar jaate ho na tab aap Jeet jaate ho. You don’t even realise but you have already crossed the finish line. It is very important to have that Rohit Shetty factor in everyone’s life. So find yours or go and meet him (laughs). I believe everyone gave me a tough competition. I still feel it could have been anybody’s trophy because each one of us was good at some or the other thing. We all had our share of strengths and weaknesses. Mera permutation combination aisa baitha ke jab main jiske Saamne aaya Uske andar main Accha tha. Shilpa and I’ve literally supported each other and done all the stunts. Kahin hota hai na vibes match kar jaati hai logon ki. We always had an amazing bond. Of course, she has been misunderstood and I believe hua hoga because she is somebody who’s like me who speaks the truth and sach sabke bus ki baat nahi hai hazam karna. Yes, because of the way the show started on a controversial note, it might have made people believe that it is slowly becoming Bigg Boss. But again if you talk about two people clashing Woh Kahin par bhi hosakta hai, it’s not necessary that it happens only in Bigg Boss. I find it stupid that he had to leave the show in such a way. He was such a good competitor and had been on the show, shayad Woh interview de raha hota. Had he used his brain, he would have been sitting here and focused on the stunts. He went on a different tangent. Not everyone can handle success, at a young age shayad main bhi nahi kar paata. So it’s important for his family, his close friends to get him grounded. It is their responsibility because it is a transcend phase.
